As Ustaad Bhagat Singh Locks OTT Release
Harish Shankar finally agrees the film as big flop
Ustad Bhagat Singh is all set to stream on Netflix from April 16, 2026, less than a month after its theatrical release on March 19, 2026. Starring Pawan Kalyan and directed by Harish Shankar, the film’s quick arrival on OTT has raised eyebrows in the industry.
Typically, major films enjoy a longer theatrical window, but this rapid digital release suggests the film struggled to sustain audience interest in cinemas. In fact, Ustad Bhagat Singh has turned out to be one of the biggest flops in Pawan Kalyan’s career, failing to meet the massive expectations set before release.
Interestingly, Harish Shankar, who had aggressively promoted the film, recently acknowledged at a public event that the film did not perform as expected. This marks a significant shift from his earlier confidence, bringing his career momentum back to square one.
With its OTT release, the focus now shifts to whether the film can find a second life among streaming audiences. Sometimes, films that underperform in theatres manage to gain appreciation online. It remains to be seen if Ustad Bhagat Singh can redeem itself and win applause on Netflix.
