Jana Nayagan Flops in Telugu with Poor Theatre Occupancy

Jana Nayagan was expected to create history in the Telugu states as it marked Vijay‘s final film before fully focusing on politics. However, the film has turned out to be a massive disappointment in the Telugu market, recording some of the lowest numbers in Vijay’s career in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

While the film opened strongly in Tamil Nadu and crossed significant worldwide milestones in its first two days, the Telugu version failed to attract audiences in a big way. Reports suggest that the film witnessed poor occupancy in several centers and struggled to generate positive word of mouth among Telugu moviegoers.

One of the biggest reasons behind the poor performance is said to be the lack of excitement among Telugu audiences. Vijay’s transition into politics has shifted the focus away from his film career, and many fans feel that the actor has already moved on from cinema. As a result, the emotional connect that usually drives a superstar’s final film was missing.

Adding to Jana Nayagan’s troubles is the unexpected success of Chennai Love Story. The romantic drama has been receiving encouraging reactions and has emerged as the preferred choice for family audiences and youngsters.

Trade circles believe that competition from Chennai Love Story further dented Jana Nayagan’s prospects, especially in urban centers where audiences had multiple options. With weak word of mouth and declining interest, the film now faces an uphill battle in the Telugu states.

For now, it appears that Vijay’s political journey has generated more curiosity than his final cinematic outing among Telugu audiences.
