Ram Charan’s Peddi Clears Censor, Set for Release
Peddi starring Ram Charan has successfully completed its censor formalities ahead of its grand theatrical release. The sports action drama has been awarded a U/A certificate by the CBFC, clearing the way for a smooth release across domestic and overseas markets.
The makers reportedly completed the censor process well in advance to avoid last-minute hurdles, especially at a time when several big-budget films have been facing certification issues.
Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi is one of the most-awaited Telugu films of the year and is scheduled to release on June 4. Paid premieres are also being planned a day before the official release in several locations. The film features Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead, marking her major Telugu big-screen outing opposite Ram Charan.
The movie has been carrying strong buzz ever since its announcement, thanks to its rustic backdrop, sports drama theme, and Ram Charan’s intense transformation. Though the recently released trailer received mixed reactions from a section of audiences, the makers are continuing aggressive promotions across multiple cities.
Industry reports also suggest that the team may release another promotional trailer closer to release in order to build stronger momentum. Apart from Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, the film also stars Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, and Boman Irani in crucial roles, while music is composed by A. R. Rahman.
