Aliya Fakhri indicted on four counts of first-degree murder New York Court

Aliya Fakhri, sister of Bollywood actress Nargis Fakhri, has been indicted on four counts of first-degree murder for allegedly setting fire to a garage in Queens, New York, killing her ex-boyfriend Edward Jacobs and his friend Anastasia Ettienne.¹

According to prosecutors, Fakhri arrived at the residence on November 2, shouting, “You’re all going to die today,” before setting the structure ablaze. Jacobs was asleep on the second floor, while Ettienne tried to save him but couldn’t escape the flames.

Fakhri faces multiple charges, including four counts of second-degree murder and charges of first- and second-degree arson. If convicted, she could face life imprisonment. District Attorney Melinda Katz stated that Fakhri “maliciously ended the lives of two people by setting a fire that trapped a man and woman in a raging inferno”.

Fakhri’s next court appearance is scheduled for December 9.
