The story begins in Japan, where Satyanarayana, known in the underworld as Satya Dada (Prakash Raj), rises to power after bringing a massive consignment of gold from Japan. Alongside his two sons, Shyam and Parthu (Venkat), and his foster son OG – Ojas Gambhira (Pawan Kalyan), he establishes a powerful business empire in Mumbai, operating from his own port. In a shocking twist, Ghambeera leaves Mumbai, choosing to live a quiet life in Nashik with his wife Kanmani (Priya Arul Mohan) and daughter Tara.
Meanwhile, Mumbai’s criminal underworld is shaken as Satya’s empire clashes with rival don Omi (Emraan Hashmi). When Satya Dada’s men seize one of Omi’s smuggled consignments, the feud escalates. In retaliation, Omi orchestrates the brutal killing of Satya’s younger son Parthu and sets his sights on destroying Satya’s family. As Satya Dada confronts OG in Nashik, Omi’s forces strike with deadly precision. What follows is a storm of betrayal, vengeance, and bloodshed that threatens to tear apart everything Satya built.
Director Sujeeth takes time in the first half to establish the characters and their conflicts, which feels a bit slow at places. But once Pawan Kalyan (OG) enters, the film shifts gears his intro, action blocks, and the interval bang raise the stakes and set up a gripping second half. While the Kanmani and OG portions could have been explored more, Sujeeth delivers a gangster drama packed with intensity. Though the core storyline feels routine, the execution especially with Pawan Kalyan’s screen presence, keeps it engaging.
The second half begins on a high note, with daughter sentiment adding emotional depth and making the story stronger. OG’s return to Mumbai raises the intensity, and the police station episode, where he threatens Inspector (Abhimanyu Singh), stands out as a major highlight.
The face-off scenes between Omi and OG, along with the thrilling chase sequences between Arjun and OG, keep the momentum going. The climax, wrapped up with the “Vashi O Vashi” episode, provides a satisfying finishing touch, while the unexpected twist raises fresh curiosity for the film’s future. That said, the narrative in the latter half often moves along predictable lines. Still, the Samurai connection in Japan adds novelty and a unique flavor to an otherwise familiar gangster storyline.
Power Star Pawan Kalyan steals the show with his swag, style, and action making his first full-length gangster drama a treat for fans. Priyanka Mohan impresses with her charming look, while Sri Reddy proves her versatility. Emraan Hashmi delivers a strong performance as the menacing villain Omi, perfectly matching Pawan’s intensity. Prakash Raj and Arjun Das add weight in key roles, with every character crafted to hold significance.
On the technical front, director Sujeeth presents a routine revenge gangster story in a stylish, refreshing manner. The visuals are rich and classy, supported by Thaman’s impactful background score, which breathes life into the film. Strong editing, detailed art work, and DVV Danayya’s grand production values enhance the experience.
Despite being a gang-war drama at its core, the World War II and Japanese Samurai connection gives OG a unique edge, making it stand apart in the Telugu film industry.
Go and Watch, Don’t Wait Anymore! Its OG Time!
