Peddi’s Hindi Version Struggles Despite Global Success

While Peddi continues its dream run in the Telugu states and has already crossed the ₹230 crore mark worldwide, its performance in the Hindi market has emerged as a clear weak point. Despite being positioned as a pan-India release and backed by extensive promotions, the film has struggled to attract audiences in North India.

According to trade reports, the Hindi version has managed only around ₹10-12 crore net during its extended opening weekend, which is far below expectations for a film mounted on such a massive scale. Several box-office trackers described the Hindi opening as dull and underwhelming from day one.

The contrast between the Telugu and Hindi markets has been striking. While the Telugu version continues to drive the film’s overall collections, the dubbed Hindi version has failed to generate the kind of momentum that recent pan-India Telugu films enjoyed. Trade analysts have pointed out that even Ram Charan’s popularity after RRR has not translated into strong footfalls in the Hindi belt for Peddi.

The coming weekdays are expected to be even tougher. With the opening weekend numbers already on the lower side, sustaining collections in Hindi circuits could prove challenging. For now, Peddi remains a Telugu box-office phenomenon, but its Hindi performance is undoubtedly a disappointing chapter in an otherwise impressive theatrical run.
